Retain your registration online

Each year all chiropractors registered with the General Chiropractic Council are sent a request to complete their retention to ensure they remain on the register if they want to continue to practise chiropractic in the UK.

The retention application must be completed and the retention fee paid, by 30 November. You can complete your retention application and pay the fee via the portal.

If you are thinking of changing your status, for example from practising to non-practising, or no longer wish to stay on the register, click here.


Why do I have to complete the retention application?

Chiropractors who wish to remain on the register next year need to show us they are fit to practice by filling in a form confirming whether they have, for example, any disciplinary matters with other regulators, health issues or criminal convictions. There is also an annual fee to stay on the register.

What happens if I miss the 30 November deadline?

We will issue you with a final warning notice before the deadline of 30 November, which gives you a further 14 days (up until 14 December) to fill in the form and pay the fee. If your application is not complete by the 14 December your registration will lapse and you will no longer be registered.
